Sharon Moore, co-owner and chief financial officer, was sentenced in federal court late Monday night to 20 years in federal prison for her role in the 2017 Ayundando Guardians embezzlement scandal. She and three others pled guilty to pocketing $11 million from clients and using that money to pay for Mercedez Benz, Final Four tickets and $4.4 million in American Express charges.. Rockland Lawyer Steals $Millions from Elderly Incapacitated People

Anita M. Volpe of Rockland Maine is accused of stealing nearly $1.2 million from three elderly incapacitated people.  The state is recommending that she serve seven years in prison. Volpe was indicted in March 2019 by a Knox County grand jury on three counts of felony theft, two counts of Class B misuse of entrusted property and one count of Class C misuse of entrusted property. Joann Bashinsky, 88, heiress to the Golden Flake potato chip empire, is for now back in control of her fortune after a ruling Thursday by the Alabama Supreme Court. The court voided a 2019 probate order granting an emergency conservator that came after two employees claimed that 88-year-old Joann Bashinsky has dementia and is mentally unfit to handle her vast estate.
