In dealing with her mom’s probate, Pat saw first hand how there are people involved with the probate process who lie, scam, and manipulate individuals and families; so she wanted to do something to stop others from being fleeced by probate.  Mike wanted to help.  So, they started UnWrapThis.

WE KNOW THE PERILS OF PROBATE

After experiencing our own probate nightmares, and still dealing with it, we knew that something needs to change.  How could a court system like probate be allowed to TAKE FROM PEOPLE.

Just like most people, we had no clue about probate, guardianship, conservatorship, and all the jackals that play their role.

Probate is a money grabbing, draining, exhausting process; where you wonder if the entire probate court process is on the take.  Like Really, an absolute complete stranger is better to make decisions for mom than mom’s family.  Now in full disclosure, mom’s kids were fighting each other.  But OK; like still; it should have been a family member selected to be in charge in all aspects.

 We Did Our Estate Plan

While in the midst of mom’s probate process, with the jackals in full force, we stopped; contacted a lawyer; and put our estate plan in place.  Our documents include an Advanced Health Care Directive, Durable Power of Attorney, and a Last Will and Testament.  We also setup a Living Trust.

We are determined to avoid probate.
